What is VideoSheriff?
VideoSheriff is a web-based downloader for publicly accessible Bilibili videos. It analyzes a video link, shows the qualities that are actually available, and produces a single MP4 file. No software installation is needed.
Which Bilibili links are supported?
bilibili.com video links using a BV or av ID, and b23.tv short links. The link is validated before anything is fetched.
Can I choose the video quality?
Yes. After analysis you see only the qualities actually available for that video — for example 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p — and you pick the one you want before downloading.
Why are some qualities unavailable?
Bilibili only exposes part of the rendition ladder to unauthenticated requests for certain videos. VideoSheriff shows exactly what is publicly available and never lists qualities that cannot be downloaded.
Why might a video fail to download?
The video may be unavailable, region- or login-restricted, or a transient network or upstream error may occur. Failures are reported with a clear message and temporary files are cleaned up, so you can simply try again.
Why is a video unavailable?
VideoSheriff only works with publicly accessible content. Region-locked, member-only, login-required or removed videos cannot be fetched.
What happens if a download fails?
The job fails safely with a structured error message, any partial files are removed automatically, and you can start a new download.
How long is a completed download available?
The finished MP4 is delivered to your browser right after it is ready. The file is kept for a limited time (30 minutes by default) and then automatically swept to free storage, so start your download promptly.
